Quartet bol založený v roku 1997. Zameriava sa na moderný swing a mainstream až bebop, VVJQ spolupracuje so spevákmi a sólistami domácej aj európskej jazzovej scény.

Vlado Vizár

He began as a double-bass player and later in 1957-1960 he finished private school by professor Galovec, where he studied trombone. He is a member of Banská Bystrica Dixieland. In 1961-1967 he studied Faculty of Architecture in Bratislava. In 1962, he Vizár co-established Revival Jazz Band, then he had been a member of Traditional Club Bratislava for many years and has also performed with Revival and Traditional Band up to now. In 1995, he established Twobones Jazz Quintet and also BB Jazz Quintet in Banská Bystrica. Vlado Vizár has co-performed with many local and international top soloists (E. Wright, Lee Harper, S. Košvanec, Max Greger, Albert Nicholas, Poavol Polanský and so on. He has also taken part on many album records (more than 17 LP and CD).

Ján Babič

He was a co-establisher of modern, progressive and popular music formation called Gama Club in Piešťany. He had cooperated with many top musicians and bands from Slovakia and has also worked as a professional musician abroad. Nowadays, he lives in Trenčín. Ján Babič has been a very active president of Trenčín Jazz Company for many years. He is the father of internationally accepted Jazz Under the Castle festival and of many other festivals and concerts. Thanks his musical profession, approach and his interest, Ján Babič is still known for his permanent jazz modernity.

Peter Jankech

In 1978-1986 he studied at Conservatory and then horn and piano at College of Arts in Bratislava. He was a member of Lúčnica Orchestra and also a member of Slovak Radio Symphonic Orchestra in Bratislava. Since 1988, he has been playing jazz piano professionally. He was a co-establisher of Swing Quartet in Piešťany, which he had played on many performances home and abroad for five years with. For last ten years, he has played as a professional pianist abroad. He is interested in jazz arrangement. Since May 2004, he has became a member of Vlado Vizár Jazz Quartet and Revival and Traditional Jazz Band.

Andrej Šebo

Studied double-bass and horn at Conservatory in Bratislava, later Music at Faculty of Pedagogy. Together with Braňo Hronec, Pavol Polanský, Juraj Henter and other musicians, he had played in Bratislava Jazz Studio in the middle of the sixties. Their play list consisted mostly of hard bop. He has performed in music clubs across the western part of Europe for a long time. He is and also was a member of Traditional Revival Band, Peter Lipa and Band, Dušan Húščava Quintet, Peter Cardarelli Quartet, Pavel Bodnár Trio. He has performed in Vlado Vizár Jazz Quartet for a long time. During his professional career, he has taken part on many jazz album records, LP and CD projects. His model in music is Ray Brown. 

Andrea Červenková – Chotárová

She was raised in a family of jazz musicians from Sered and that is why she has been interested in this music genre since her childhood. His father is leader of the legendary Alli Jazz Band which performed classical jazz and her uncle was a long-known jazz clarinetist and lecturer (Jaroslav Červenka).  She performed and grew professionally not only with this band but also with Traditional and Revival Jazz Band, Vlado Vizár Jazz Quartet, Ragtime Jazz Band and so on. She has also met a lot of people from this musical area and has absolved jazz happenings oriented on jazz singing. The genre she is interested in : traditional jazz, swing, rhythm and blues, gospel, soul.
