Traditional Jazz Band was established in spring 1993. The average age of its members then was 16 years. Despite of this, the band became successful locally and internationally. The break point was the international Dixieland festival in Šalgotarján, Hungary, in 1994. For thirteen years, the band has absolved hundreds of successful performances in Slovakia and abroad. It has performed at many prestigious international festivals such as Saint Raphaele (France), Dresden (Germany), Silkebork Riverboat Festival (Denmark), Bratislava Jazz Days (Bratislava), Prague, Basil (Switzerland) and so on. They won the 3th place on Fest Festival in Žilina and Henrich Gondáš was awarded The Best Singer Prize. Together with Jana Kociánová the band absolved a very successful tour across Denmark. Besides traditional jazz, they performed also gospel (it is necessary to mention mega concert for 10 thousand people, 100 choir members and conductor L. Wairim.)The band also co-performed with Peter Lipa, Lýdia Wairim, Berco Balog, Marcela Molnárová, Jozef Dodo Šošoka, Laci Molnár (HU), Karen Edwards (USA). Members of the band - specifically M. Poprádi, Z. Botoš and „Pišta“ Bartuš, who belongs to the best of Czechoslovak jazz bass players – cooperate with personalities of Slovak, European and American jazz scene.
Traditional Jazz Band is considered the top band in the frame of traditional jazz and early swing.
