Tomáš Gajlík

Pianist, composer and producer Tomáš Gajlík (1979) was raised  in a musical family from Piešťany. He studied jazz piano at Univerzität fűr Kunst und Musik in Graz. He cooperated with many musicians such as Red Holloway, Harry Sokal, John Purcell, Laurie Antonioli, Marek Balata, Mathew Mitchell, Steve Wood, Howard Curtis, Michal Bugala, Milo Suchomel, Dodo Šošoka, Robo Opatovský, Lucia Lužinská and many others. Nowadays, he works on his debut album and he is also about to present his own trio on our festival.

Peter Solárik

Studied drums at conservatory in Žilina and later pedagogy of music in 1997-2002. He is a member of front jazz bands as for example Nothing but Swing Trio, Klaudius Kováč Trio, Tomáš Gajlík Trio, Lucia Lužinská and All Time Jazz, the Triology, Róbert Opatovský Swing and Latin Band, Michal Bugala Group, Štěpán Markovič Quintet, V4 Octet – an international project, Soul for Seven. Peter Solárik has also cooperated with icons of Slovak jazz scene (Gabo Jonáš, Matúš Jakabčic, Juraj Bartoš) and with world-known musiacian such as Scott Hamilton (USA), Harry Sokal, (AT), Jánusz Muniak (PL), Piotr Baron (PL). He has performed on many festivals - Bratislava Jazz Days (two times), Brno Jazz Fest (three times), Jazz Fest Green Bay 2005 (USA), then festivals in Prešov, Košice, Martin, Zelená Voda, Krakow, Warsaw, Kielce, Zakopané, Štiavnica...

He organizes jazz concerts for grammar schools and conservatories. In April 2009, he established a drum player competition for art school pupils. Together with doc. István Sabó, he is an art leader of  the Perculogy Ensamble drums orchestra at J. L. Bell Conservatory in Banská Bystrica. Peter Solárik is the establisher of Percussion Summit Festival and of an educational project for high schools called Jazz Goes to School.

Štefan Bartuš

Born in the family of musicians. He studied at J.L. Bella Conservatory in Žilina and later College of Arts in Bratislava. After finishing studies he was a member of SĽUK, Milo Suchomel Quartet, Matúš Jakabčic Big Band, Pavol Bodnár Interjazzional Band. He has cooperated with Harry Sokal, Jeff Gardner, Howard Curtis, Danilo Memolli, Lee Andrews Davison, Jánusz Muniak, Sandro Gibellini, Lýdia Muray, Karen Adwords, Jurajk Bartoš, Ľuboš Šrámek, Ondrej Krajňák and so on… He has been on many competitions and gained several awards : Jazz Hoeilart international - 4th place (Belgia), Getxo (Spain), Glachau (Germany) – 1st place,  Lucia Lužinská All Time Jazz, E.B.U. live concert.

Viktor Tóth

"Viktor Toth is one of the most talented musicians in the young generation of jazz artists in Hungary” said the press when reviewing his 2007 Climbing with Mountains, which, incidentally, won best jazz album of the same year. Alto Saxophone player in the following bands: Budapest Jazz Orchestra, Equinox Quintet, Koszegi Quartet, Road Six Sax, Djabe, Berki Tamas Band. 1996-1999 — Performing in well known, Hungarian pop groups and making records with them. 1998-Present — Playing together, making records with the following Hungarian and foreign ’Jazz Giants’: Kalman Olah, Attila Laszlo, Imre Kőszegi, Gyula Babos, Béla Szakcsi-Lakatos, Tamás Berki, Arnie Somogyi, Winston Clifford, Hamid Drake, William Parker, Eldad Tarmu, Peter Finch, 2002 — Foundation of an own jazz quartet, the Toth Viktor Quartet, 2003 — Foundation of an own electronic jazz group, the Project 11, 2003-Present — Arrangement and performance of traditional Bulgarian music for Malko Teatro (Bulgarian Theater), 2004 — Fondation of an own jazz trio, the Toth Viktor Tercett First album published, 2006 — Recieved the Lakatos Ablakos Dezső Stipendium
